FIX ME JESUS, FIX ME

Humpty Dumpty sat on a wall, Humpty Dumpty had a great fall.  All the kings horses and all the kings men couldn't put Humpty Dumpty together again.  How sad.  All of the efforts of man cannot make another man whole again.  Think Humpty Dumpty knew Jesus?  No Jesus no restoration.  Know Jesus know restoration.

Beloved, we're blessed!  We fall many times and get broken into many pieces but because of Jesus Christ our Lord and Savior, our Redeemer, our ever present Help in times of trouble, through Him and Him alone we make our way back!

Pro 24:16  For a just man falleth seven times, and riseth up again: but the wicked shall fall into mischief.

Humpty Dumpty fell, broke into many pieces and could not be put together again by the kings men.  A child of God can fall and break into many pieces and find this is their way to being restored or made whole.  You see, it is because of our willingness to be broken and our willingness to confess our sins and ask to be forgiven that Jesus Christ is moved to restore us back to Himself.

At The Potter's House
Jer 18:1  This is the word that came to Jeremiah from the LORD:
Jer 18:2  "Go down to the potter's house, and there I will give you my message."
Jer 18:3  So I went down to the potter's house, and I saw him working at the wheel.
Jer 18:4  But the pot he was shaping from the clay was marred in his hands; so the potter formed it into another pot, shaping it as seemed best to him.
Jer 18:5  Then the word of the LORD came to me.
Jer 18:6  He said, "Can I not do with you, Israel, as this potter does?" declares the LORD. "Like clay in the hand of the potter, so are you in my hand, Israel.

Today God is still taking the marred lives of His children and shaping us into vessels of honor as seems best to Him.  Do not fear being broken.  Blessed is the man who's God is the Lord!  In Christ we cannot fail.  Need fixing?  Head on down to the potter's house.  He's waiting just for you!

WE FALL DOWN, BUT WE GET UP!

God's Settled Word

Do you find yourself pondering the thought "how should I walk as a christian?"  So many roads to travel.  Numerous road signs to follow.  Hills to climb, valleys to crossover.  David in Psalms 119 had those thoughts and questions.  He stumbled, fell and got back up.  In his search for the road to eternal life he made many blunders.  Simply put, he sinned.  Through David's experiences he learned a great lesson.  He learned to repent and to continue to seek God with all his heart.

Here are a few finds from David's experiences in Psalms 119.  He understood that God was the One Who could help him.  Psalms  119:173 "Let Your hand become my help for I have chosen Your precepts."  David had positioned himself for the power of God by knowing what His Word says, obeying His Word and believing God to be a God of action and faithful to His covenant.  David delighted himself in the law of the Lord.  He asked that God let his soul live that he may praise Him.  David cried out to a God that he knew he needed and could trust because he wanted so much to know how to live.  Psalms 119:175 "And let Your Judgements  help me."  Guide me as I walk this journey of life as Your servant.  He confesses that he has gone astray like a lost sheep, find me for I have not forgotten Your Commandments Psalms 119:176.  David understood that apart from God he could do absolutely NOTHING!

I'm reminded of a verse in a song, "I can't even walk, without You holding my hand."  Have you recognized how dependent you are on God?  Wherever you are on your journey of life when you feel helpless, hopeless or just in need of refreshing remember David.  Remember that you too can call on God and in His faithfulness to His children He will recognize your voice and say, "where art thou?"  Our answers to life are found in His Word, testimonies, statutes, precepts, commandments and law.  Within His Word you can receive truth, justice, purity, mercy, and grace.  You can have everything you need pertaining to life and godliness to help you on this lifelong journey as a servant of God.  God's Word is settled, you can be too.

YOU ARE BLESSED TO BE A BLESSING

Mat 5:2 And He opened His mouth and taught them, saying,
Mat 5:3 Blessed are the poor in spirit! For theirs is the kingdom of Heaven.
Mat 5:4 Blessed are they that mourn! For they shall be comforted.
Mat 5:5 Blessed are the meek! For they shall inherit the earth.
Mat 5:6 Blessed are they who hunger and thirst after righteousness! For they shall be filled.
Mat 5:7 Blessed are the merciful! For they shall obtain mercy.
Mat 5:8 Blessed are the pure in heart! For they shall see God.
Mat 5:9 Blessed are the peacemakers! For they shall be called the sons of God.
Mat 5:10 Blessed are they who have been persecuted for righteousness sake! For theirs is the kingdom of Heaven.
Mat 5:11 Blessed are you when men shall revile you and persecute you, and shall say all kinds of evil against you falsely, for My sake.
Mat 5:12 Rejoice and be exceedingly glad, for your reward in Heaven is great. For so they persecuted the prophets who were before you.
Mat 5:13 You are the salt of the earth, but if the salt loses its savor, with what shall it be salted? It is no longer good for anything, but to be thrown out and to be trodden underfoot by men.
Mat 5:14 You are the light of the world. A city that is set on a hill cannot be hidden.

Share with others what the Lord has blessed you with.  Give of your time, talent and treasure.  Don't delay, find someone to bless today.

GOD'S SETTLED WORD

Someone may ask the question, what makes God’s Word settled?  The answer is simple, GOD SAID IT!  With God’s spoken Word he created the heavens and the earth.  With God’s spoken Word he made man, and with His spoken word He has commanded the heavens, earth and man to live according to His PRECEPTS!  To live according to God’s Precepts we must understand His Precepts and believe them.  Believing the Word of God is agreeing with the Word of God to the point that it becomes settled in your heart and is your way of life!  You become a doer of His Word without giving it a thought!
I have been reading, meditating on and praying to God according to His Word in Psalm 119.   A foundational truth in Psalm 119 is that the Word of God is all-sufficient Psalm 19:7-9 gives us further insight into the all sufficiency of God's Word.

Psalm 19:7-9
“The law of the LORD is perfect, reviving the soul.
The statutes of the LORD are trustworthy, making wise the simple.
The precepts of the LORD are right, giving joy to the heart.
The commands of the LORD are radiant, giving light to the eyes.
The fear of the LORD is pure, enduring forever.
The ordinances of the LORD are sure and altogether righteous.”
Psa 19:10  More to be desired are they than gold, yea, than much fine gold: sweeter also than honey and the honeycomb.
Psa 19:11  Moreover by them is thy servant warned: and in keeping of them there is great reward.

Not only is the Word of God " All Sufficient", it is "Sufficient for All"!  2 Timothy 3:17-17 tells us The Word of God is sufficient to make us wise, train us in righteousness, and equip us for every good work.

What a "Settled Word" from God today!  Be of good cheer as you DELIGHT YOURSELF IN THE LORD!!!

HELP MY UNBELIEF

Listening to my pastor yesterday as he ministered on Mary, Martha and Lazarus from John chapter 11 my heart was pricked.  I uttered within myself, "Lord help my unbelief".  Many of us read the account of Mary, Martha and Lazarus and think it's all about the miracle of Jesus raising Lazarus from the dead and rightly so, but there is more.  For me once again on yesterday, my focus was on the people's unbelief.  Let's make it plain, what is my attitude when I doubt or simply do not believe?  I have an attitude of doubting the truth of something.  My attitude is one of mistrust, skepticism, suspicion, uncertainty; denial, rejection, no faith.  Unbelief is the enemy of my faith.  When mixed together they are like oil and water, I will never get them to become one.  Let's look at John's account of unbelief.  I will use certain verses, please read the entire chapter for more clarity.

Joh 11:1  Now a certain man was sick, named Lazarus, of Bethany, the town of Mary and her sister Martha.
Joh 11:2  (It was that Mary which anointed the Lord with ointment, and wiped his feet with her hair, whose brother Lazarus was sick.)
Joh 11:3  Therefore his sisters sent unto him, saying, Lord, behold, he whom thou lovest is sick.
Joh 11:4  When Jesus heard that, he said, This sickness is not unto death, but for the glory of God, that the Son of God might be glorified thereby.
Joh 11:5  Now Jesus loved Martha, and her sister, and Lazarus.
Joh 11:6  When he had heard therefore that he was sick, he abode two days still in the same place where he was.

Joh 11:11  These things said he: and after that he saith unto them, Our friend Lazarus sleepeth; but I go, that I may awake him out of sleep.
Joh 11:12  Then said his disciples, Lord, if he sleep, he shall do well.
Joh 11:13  Howbeit Jesus spake of his death: but they thought that he had spoken of taking of rest in sleep.
Joh 11:14  Then said Jesus unto them plainly, Lazarus is dead.

Jesus and his disciples went to Mary and Martha and although they both knew Him as Jesus and called Him Lord their grief interfered with their faith.  They both said to Him, "if thou hadst been here, my brother had not died." There unbelief would not allow their faith to even think that Jesus' being there meant He would raise Lazarus their brother from the dead.  Not only did Mary and Martha doubt but the Jews that were with them to comfort them doubted as well.

Looking back at John 11:4 we can see the purpose of Lazarus' death.  Jesus said that it was for the glory of God that the Son of God might be glorified.  This verse takes me to my point.  We all experience grief, hardships, challenges, disappointments and the like and we sometimes allow our situations to interfere with our faith or our belief in the promises of Jesus.  Just know that for a child of God any hardship that we face can bring God glory!  There is nothing to hard for God and every trial that comes our way is to make us strong.  When trouble comes our way instead of fainting in our hearts with doubt and unbelief we must look up and see this as a time to experience the glory of God!  God is for us and although we don't always understand what He is doing we must understand that His love never FAILS and it's for our good and His Glory!  Hallelujah!

Put your belief to the test today.  Observe your day and every situation that comes your way.  Is your belief being challenged?  Is doubt trying to creep in?

PRAY:  Lord, thank You for giving me the measure of faith.  When I face trouble in my life thank You for the grace to believe in Your promises.  May my heart be ever grateful and encouraged as I remember that no matter what comes my way it's for my good and Your Glory.  Whenever I begin to faint, Lord help my unbelief!   In Jesus' Name Amen.
